Kindergarten Curriculum Information
Kindergarten at Mark Twain is full of learning and fun; everyday brings a new adventure! We offer a half day program with an optional tuition-based enrichment program, called KED, for those parents who would like full or part time enrichment. This program is implemented and managed by an experienced, certified teacher who provides an extension of the curriculum taught during the morning session.
Our regular Kindergarten day includes small group instruction in both reading and writing. We use the guided reading program that encourages and provides both differentiated instruction and opportunity for individual, age-appropriate practice at home. In math we use the Everyday Math Program to give children the foundation they need in both number sense and computation.
Kindergarten classes also receive computer, art, music, library and PE each week. Additionally, we enjoy involving families in many different functions throughout the year: There are events such as the school-wide picnic, Hopkins/Twain Fun Run, Dads and Donuts, Moms and Muffins, Native American Day, Kindergarten graduation program and many, many more ways for you to participate in your child’s Kindergarten year.
If you have any questions about any aspect of our Kindergarten program, please call Jackie Brotherton @ 303-734-5835. We would love to have you join our Twain family!
