 Mrs. Julie Karaffa Ireland

I am a second grade teacher in, by far, the most outstanding school in the district. Mark Twain provides a nurturing learning environment for all children. Each child is valued as an individual and their needs are met by all staff, not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. How fortunate I am to be a member of the Twain team.

I began teaching in 1985 as a Kindergarten teacher at Twain. I substitute taught prior to this position throughout the Denver metro area and also acquired a full time teaching position in a private school before joining LPS. My past 21 years of teaching experience has been not only in Kindergarten but in first and second grades as well. My husband and I optionally enroll our four children at both Twain and Powell Middle School. Twain is by far the best place to learn as a child and teach as a professional.

 Ms. Lauren LaneMinimize

Hello! My name is Lauren Lane and I am a second grade teacher here at Twain. I am originally from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and moved to Colorado after graduating from the University of Wyoming (Go Cowboys!). I graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I began my teaching career in 2006 teaching 1st grade in Monument, CO. I love teaching 1st and 2nd grade students; they are so fun and eager to learn.

In my spare time I enjoy playing in the outdoors, reading, traveling and visiting my family back in Jackson. I also love to play with my yorkie puppy named Max.

I am so fortunate to be teaching in Littleton Schools and am very excited to be here at Twain Elementary. I feel so privileged to work with an outstanding staff and live in such a supportive community. Go Tigers!
